Song Spotlight: "Gonna Get Through This World"
Come sing Woody's lyrics as arranged by the Klezmatics on July 7th.
“Gonna Get Through this World” is an exuberant song of hope and endurance penned by Woody Guthrie, but never set to music or recorded by him. The Klezmatics arranged a lively klezmer version of it, which Marysia heard them perform live at the Jewish Culture Festival in Kraków last week. And she’s been humming it ever since.
She reminded me of just how peppy and hopeful the song is—a perfect addition to the 17th Social-Justice Sing-Along: We the People Edition.
